In Echoes in Stone, I wanted to place a watcher over ancient stone figures caught between movement and stillness, their broken and fragmented forms bearing the damage of time. Together they suggest the mystery of an old Pompeian world — remnants of an ancient, perhaps imagined past, and of what may have survived.
