A lone vessel advances through blinding light, its form partially dissolved by glare and reflection. The horizon is indistinct — water and sky merge into a field of gold and green.

Rather than depict maritime heroism, the painting captures orientation without certainty. The ship exists between presence and disappearance.

Light dominates structure. Direction becomes psychological rather than geographical.
